The interview closet started in a small classroom closet in the Alternative High School in Manteo, North Carolina. The leadership there was amazing and our students came with very little most of the time. We had students who needed to get jobs, but couldn’t afford a nice shirt, tie, shoes, dress, or whatever was needed for the interview. We put together interview questions and coached students on how to answer for the position they were interested in getting. Looking good is part of feeling good so they were confident when they went to meet the potential bosses for the first time. It is super easy to set up a closet with sizes needed and have questions handy. Guidance counselors, teachers, or coaches can do this pretty easily! When you have the students take items, they keep them and you replace each item by size! Want to build your interview closet today, let’s chat!
