How Foo Crew Got Started
It all began under the guidance of Skye Leber, who was teaching in the Outer Banks, NC. In her tiny ESL classroom, a space that became a breeding ground for compassion, students would gather for lunch. On a particularly impactful day, they discussed the sadness some of their peers were experiencing. Inspired to make a difference, Skye and the students, including enthusiastic 4th- and 5th-graders like Maggie, Madison, and Italo, decided to create and deliver cards throughout the school secretly. Signed only as "FOO Crew," these cards were small but powerful gestures intended to spread kindness and show others that someone cared. This simple act of making cards sparked a movement that grew beyond the classroom walls, expanding into broader initiatives for schools and communities under Skye’s nurturing leadership.

Johnny, an avid baseball player from South Florida, faced severe bullying at school after a game accident led to him losing a tooth. His family could not afford the dental work needed, and the bullying became unbearable. When FOO Crew learned about Johnny's plight, we stepped in to cover all his medical expenses, ensuring that he could smile confidently again without fear of ridicule. This support not only restored Johnny's smile but also his confidence, illustrating the profound impact of community assistance.

By providing backpacks filled with age-appropriate books and learning materials, They are opening worlds of opportunity and imagination for young learners. For each backpack purchased, another is donated, often becoming the recipient's first books ever, sparking joy and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
Veteran Support that Changes Lives
Foo's gratitude for those who’ve served our country translates into dynamic support for veterans. Through comprehensive programs that provide transportation, homelessness prevention, and IT and household services, FOO Crew is here to give back to our veterans the honor they deserve.
Addressing Homelessness and Food Insecurity
Following the devastation of Hurricane Ian in Southwest Florida, FOO Crew stepped up to distribute essential supplies like clothing, food, and beds. By partnering with organizations like Walmart, we ensure that each dollar stretches further, bringing substantial relief to impacted families. Their holiday 'Ring and Go' initiative, in which they deliver food items and gift cards anonymously, brings additional cheer to those facing tough times during the festive season.
